Mulled Cider
Yield: Makes 6 servings
Ingredients

fresh apple cider

1/3 |
cup |
packed light brown sugar
|
|

|
cinnamon stick
|
|
4 |
|
whole cloves
|
|
1 |
|
star anise
|
|
1/2 |
teaspoon |
peeled and sliced fresh ginger root
|
|
1 |
stalk |
lemon grass, sliced, or 1 sliced lemon
|
|
1/2 |
|
bay leaf
|
|
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Strain the mixture, discarding solids, and serve.
